MEC Announces Men’s Swimming Top Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins’ sophomore Lasse Schrieken heads the 2025-26 Mountain East Conference Men’s Swimming Awards as the MEC Swimmer of the Year.
 
The league announced the Top Honors on Thursday morning.
 
The all-conference awards were previously announced based on performances at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference/Mountain East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships in February. At that event, Schrieken, who is from Netherlands, earned all-conference in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 IM, 400 IM, 800 Freestyle Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay.
 
Davis & Elkins’ Leonardo Oshiro has been named the MEC Men’s Freshman Swimmer of the Year. Oshiro, who is from Brazil, earned all-conference in the 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke, 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 Medley Relay. 
 
Davis & Elkins’ Nicole Rose has been named the MEC Men’s Swimming Coach of the Year. Rose led the Senators to a third-place finish in the G-MAC/MEC Championships and first among MEC teams with 933.50 points, besting Wheeling, Frostburg State, Salem, Fairmont State, and West Virginia Wesleyan.

Men's Coach of the Year: Nicole Rose, Davis & Elkins
