BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The University of Charleston’s Laura Delgado de Torres has been chosen as the Mountain East Conference’s Female Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
The junior from Barcelona, Spain hit the MEC leaderboard in three events while competing in the YSU Collegiate Invitational at Youngstown State University. She posted the MEC’s second-fastest time of the season in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.15 seconds. She also recorded the conference’s fourth-best marks in the high jump (1.58 meters) and 800-meter run (2:26).
