BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the winners of this week’s Male and Female Swimmers of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Patrick Fubio of Fairmont State was named the MEC Male Swimmer of the Week with Wheeling’s Jade Miller earning MEC Female Swimmer of the Week honors.
 
Fubio was a key figure in the Falcons’ 131-123 win against Wheeling. The senior from Clarksburg, W.Va. posted wins in the 200 Free (1:48.83) and 200 Back (1:56.84) to go along with a runner-up finish in the 100 Fly (52.32). He also contributed to the victorious 200 Medley Relay team with a 23.27 split in the 50 Fly.
 
A senior from Washington, Pa., Miller celebrated Senior Day with a dominating performance for the Cardinals. She posted individual wins in the 200 Back (2:20.23), 200 Breast (2:35.48) and 400 Individual Medley (5:04.18) while also swimming a leg on Wheeling’s victorious 200 Medley Relay team.
