BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Glenville State’s Monica Rodelo has claimed the MEC Softball Player of the Week award, while Notre Dame’s Grace Fisher has been named the MEC Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

Rodelo, a junior from Pomona, California, helped the Pioneers go 4-0 this past week with sweeps over Davis & Elkins and West Virginia Wesleyan. Rodelo went 7-for-14 (.500) with three home runs and eight RBIs. She also recorded a double against D&E and WVWC. She recorded at least two hits in three of the four contests.
Fisher, a sophomore from Painesville, Ohio, helped Notre Dame go 4-0 this past week with sweeps over Wheeling and West Liberty. She threw 13 innings, allowing no runs, just four hits, and a walk, while striking out 21 batters. She went 2-0 in the circle for the Falcons. Fisher is just one shutout away from tying the program record in a single season, with seven.
