Lewis, Hollis Earn MEC Softball Honors

MEC Player of the Week is presented by The Health Plan

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Concord’s Lacie Lewis has been named the MEC Softball Player of the Week, while teammate and Mountain Lion Madison Hollis has been named the MEC Pitcher of the Week.
 
The MEC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
 
Lewis, a sophomore infielder from Kearneysville, West Virginia, helped the Mountain Lion go 3-1 in the opening week of the season with a win over Tusculum and a sweep of UVa-Wise. She started her season campaign by going 6-for-13 (.426), while collecting four extra-base hits - three home runs and a double.
 
Hollis, a sophomore from McMinnville, Tennessee, picked up two wins this week with wins over Tusculum and UVa-Wise while Concord went 3-1 overall. She tallied eight strikeouts over 11.1 innings. Against Tusculum, she pitched a complete-game shutout to go with five strikeouts. In the win over UVa-Wise, she pitched 4.1 innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out three batters.
