BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Liberty’s Vitor Otsuka has claimed the MEC Offensive Player of the Week award in week one of the men’s soccer season, while Notre Dame College’s Danilo Abayo Wilson earned MEC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Otsuka, a senior midfielder from Porto Alegre, Brazil, helped the Hilltoppers go 1-0 this week - knocking off No. 12 Davis & Elkins, 4-0. Otsuka scored one goal while adding a pair of assists in the road victory. He currently leads the MEC in points (4) and assists (2) through the first weekend of the season.
Wilson, a junior goalkeeper from Berlin, Germany, helped the Falcons go 2-0 this week with wins over No. 4 Lake Erie (3-0) and Ohio Dominican (3-1) in non-conference action. Wilson totaled six saves against Lake Erie, while also collecting a shutout victory over a nationally-ranked team. He also recorded two saves in the win over ODU.
