BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins guard Sam Rolle IV has been named the Mountain East Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Rolle, a junior from Riviera Beach, Fla., averaged 21.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of MEC wins last week against Glenville State and Concord, including hitting the game-winning 3-pointer against GSU with four seconds remaining. Against the Pioneers, Rolle finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals. On Saturday, he dropped in 22 points to go with eight assists and three steals. He shot over 50 percent from the floor (7 of 13) against the Mountain Lions. Rolle and the Senators have the most regular season wins at Davis & Elkins since the 1958-59 season.
