West Liberty, Fairmont State, and Charleston Punch Tickets to NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, - West Liberty, Fairmont State, and Charleston all earn bids into the 2026 NCAA DII Men’s Basketball Tournament Atlantic Regional starting on March 14, announced Sunday night on the NCAA Selection Show.
 
West Liberty the two-seed, earned the automatic bid, won the MEC regular season and tournament championships, went 27-4 this season. They will take on the seven-seed Virginia Union. Virginia Union went 24-5 this season. This is West Liberty 17th consecutive season earning an NCAA Tournament bid, which is an NCAA record.
 
Fairmont State, who fell to West Liberty in the MEC Tournament Championship, is the three-seed and will face the six-seed in Indiana (PA). Fairmont State went 26-5 this season while IUP enters with a 22-7 record.  
 
Charleston which is the eight-seed went 19-9 this season and will take on the one-seed and NCAA Atlantic Regional host in Gannon. Gannon went 28-3 this season and fell in the PSAC Tournament Championship to California (PA).
 
The NCAA DII Men’s Basketball Atlantic Regional will run from March 14-17 on the campus of Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.
