BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Notre Dame College’s Emileigh Scott has been named the Mountain East Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Frostburg State’s Stephanie King has been recognized as the Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Scott, a senior from Ellicott City, Md., helped lead Notre Dame to a 22-5 win over Charleston on Wednesday evening. In the win, Scott score six points, including four goals and two assists. Two of the goals were unassisted and one was a free-position goal. She also had nine draw controls in the game, which ranks first in the MEC this season.
King, a senior midfielder, had a big impact on defense for Frostburg State during a 2-0 week. She controlled seven ground balls, had seven draw controls and forced five turnovers. On the offensive end, she also scored eight goals in Frostburg’s two games against West Virginia Wesleyan and Davis & Elkins.
