Yeomans, Ludwig Honored By MEC

MEC Player of the Week is presented by The Health Plan

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Wheeling outside hitter Tylah Yeomans was named the Mountain East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, Fairmont State’s Emma Ludwig was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Yeomans, a junior from Piqua, Ohio, helped Wheeling go 3-0 last week by recording 43 kills, 25 digs, four block assists and three aces. In 10 total sets on the week, she hit .374 with just three errors. Her week was highlighted by a double-double performance with 19 kills and 10 digs in a four-setter. She just missed a second double-double against Malone on Saturday with 15 kills and nine digs.
 
Ludwig, a junior middle hitter from East Liverpool, Ohio, led the league with 14 blocks last week, including two solo blocks. She also recorded nine kills, four digs and two assists. Ludwig hit .348 on the week. In Tuesday’s match against West Liberty, Ludwig recorded eight blocks assists and three kills. She followed up that performance with six total blocks and six kills in Friday’s sweep against Alderson Broaddus.
