BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Virginia State's Anthony Pittman has been named the MEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after helping West Virginia State to a pair of wins last week.

Pittman, a sophomore from Charleston, W.Va., averaged 20.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks in a pair of wins last week. He pumped in 33 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in an upset win over No. 7 Fairmont State on Wednesday. He also had five assists, four steals and three blocked shots against the Falcons. In a win over Frostburg State, Pittman went over the 1,000-point mark for his career and also pulled down five rounds to go with four assists. 
 
Other Top Performances: Matt Weir (CU) averaged 19.5 points, 8.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds as the Mountain Lions won twice ... Jordan Reid (WU) averaged 23.5 points in a 2-0 week for the Cardinals ... Pat Robinson (WL) led the Hilltoppers to a pair of wins averaging 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds ... Isaiah Sanders (FAIR) averaged 22.0 points in a 1-1 week ... John Williams (GSC) averaged 22.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists as the Pioneers split their two games ... Michael Sampson (NDC) averaged 15.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week ... KJ Walker (AB) contributed 19.0 points, 8.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds in two games for the Battlers.
