* Fairmont State has taken the top spot in the NABC rankings. The No. 1 ranking is the first for the Falcons since joining NCAA Division II.
* FSU is the third different men’s basketball team to be ranked No. 1 in the country in the last two seasons.
* West Liberty remained in the top 10 coming in at No. 7. Wheeling Jesuit dropped out of the national rankings.
* In the most recent edition of the NCAA Atlantic Region Rankings, Fairmont State remained No. 1 for the second-straight week. West Liberty moved up to No. 3, Wheeling Jesuit remained at No. 6 and Shepherd moved up to No. 8.
* Eight teams have secured a spot in Charleston for the MEC Tournament: Fairmont State, West Liberty, Wheeling Jesuit, Shepherd, Notre Dame, West Virginia Wesleyan, the University of Charleston and Glenville State. * Three teams will battle for the final two spots in the tournament this week in Urbana, Concord and UVa-Wise. UVa-Wise and Concord play in the regular season finale.

* Wheeling Jesuit’s cumulative opponent winning percentage is .584, ranking it as the toughest schedule in NCAA Division II, according to the statistics posted on NCAA.com. UVa-Wise’s schedule is ranked sixth-toughest in the nation.

Concord: Ahead of Senior Night Thursday, Aaron Miller ranks ranks in the top 10 in school history in scoring (10th/1,708), field goal made (10th/626), three-point makes (4th/236) and free throw percentage (fourth/.842) ... Cam Shannon, a fifth-year senior, will play in game 112 Thursday night, 17th most in school history ... CU’s two road wins last week were the first consecutive on the road since the middle of February last season ... Michael Sanchez went over 100 three-pointers in his career over the weekend, the 22nd player in school history to accomplish the feat.

Fairmont State: Top-ranked Fairmont State is ranked No. 1 in the country for the first time in over four decades following wins over West Virginia State and Charleston over the weekend ... this is the first No. 1 ranking for FSU since joining NCAA Division II .. the Falcons can clinch at least a share of the Mountain East Conference Regular Season Championship with a win over Glenville State on Thursday night ... with wins in its final two regular season games (GSC, SHEP), FSU can win the outright crown ... Shammgod Wells needs just six more assists to become the all-time school leader ... Matt Bingaya has 13 20-point scoring performances and has gone over 30 points in a game three times this season.

Glenville State: GSC got its first win over a ranked opponent this season by defeating No. 23 Wheeling Jesuit ... it marked the second time in consecutive weeks that a non-ranked team defeated a nationally ranked opponent in the league ... Brett Morris has 11 double-doubles on the season ... he also has 12 games of 20+ points ... the Pioneers close the regular season with two games at home where they are 5-5 this year.

Notre Dame: NDC scored 48 points in the second half in its win over UVa-Wise ... Will Vorhees had games of 27 and 24 points last week with two double-doubles ... Drew Scarberry hit eight three-pointers in the win over the Cavs ... the Falcons surrendered 51 points in the second half in a loss to Concord.

Shepherd: Shepherd’s 17 wins this year are the most since the Rams posted 20 wins in the 2013-14 season ... Naim Muhammad needs one assist to reach 400 for his career ... AJ Carr (1,002 career points) became the third Shepherd player to reach the 1,000 point mark this season.

UVa-Wise: The Cavaliers currently sit in 11th place in the MEC regular season standings are one game behind both Concord and Urbana ... UVa-Wise must win both of its final regular season games to clinch a spot in the upcoming 10-team MEC Tournament, or receive help from Concord ... Michal Seals and Taiwo Badmus are each averaging 27 points nearly 60 percent shooting from the field in the two losses last week.

University of Charleston: The Golden Eagles went 0-2 at home last week ... Justin Coleman had 23 rebounds in the two games ... Elliott Cole had 29 points after being out since Feb. 1.

Urbana: Another UU win will set a program record for single-season victories during the school’s D2 era...Jahmere Howze, Carlas Jackson and DeQuan Abrom produce 51 percent of UU’s scoring ... Jackson needs seven points to crack UU’s Top 20 all-time scoring list ... Jackson is coming off a 14-point outing off the bench, which snapped a 62-game streak of consecutive starts ... Dalton Payton is shooting 24 of 51 (47.1%) from beyond the arc, which is the highest percentage by a Blue Knight since 2003-04 ... UU is 2-18 combined against West Liberty and Notre Dame.

West Liberty: West Liberty has a 121-2 record over the past six years when shooting 50 percent or better from the floor, including a 10-0 mark this season ... Zac Grossenbacher scored his 1,000th point on Saturday ... he is the 19th Hilltopper to reach that milestone during Jim Crutchfield’s 13 seasons and the 48th in school history ... Devin Hoehn is up to No. 12 on WLU’s career scoring list with 1,793 points ... WLU Hall of Famer Tom Ackerman is No. 11 with 1,834.

West Virginia Wesleyan: Wesleyan ended their home schedule with a 7-5 record … the Bobcats have lost four of their last five games … senior guard Mo Berchie scored 30 in an 85-67 home loss to Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday … with two conference games remaining, the Bobcats can finish as high as fifth or as low as eighth in the final MEC standings.
* Wheeling Jesuit: WJU posted its 20th season win for the third year in a row and is now 69-20 over those seasons ... Jarin Hilson downed seven three-pointers last week and averaged 14.5 ppg ... Dominique Tham is making over 64.4% of his field goals and one of four Cardinals making .492 or better.
