Wheeling Jesuit, one of the top teams in the region and the country, consistently churns out talented players, and 2014 should be no different. After graduating All-America selection Jenna Pew, the Cardinals return the Mountain East Conference Freshman of the Year in middle blocker Haley Kindall.
Kindall, a sophomore from Westerville, Ohio, was third on the squad in kills last year averaging 2.34 per set and 344 on the season. She also contributed a total of 132 blocks to lead WJU in that category. She helped Wheeling Jesuit to its third-straight NCAA Atlantic Regional and its first appearance in the NCAA Semifinals.
The Cards will start off the season on Sept. 5-6 in St. Paul, Minn., against top competition that includes the seven-time defending national champion Concordia, the team that eliminated Wheeling Jesuit in the NCAA Semifinals in 2014.
