Notable

• Of the teams with two or more defensive touchdowns nationally, two of the 24 are from the MEC: Frostburg State and West Virginia State. The Bobcats are one of 11 teams that have both a fumble return and an interception return for a score.

• Concord QB Tyler Mizzell leads Division II in total offense at 376.5 yards per game (the MEC single season record is 353.4 yards per game by Shepherd’s Connor Jessup in 2017).

• The Mountain Lions’ signal caller is second nationally in passing yards per game and tied for fifth in passing touchdowns.

• Mizzell has hit a pair of benchmarks in all four games this season: 300+ passing yards and 3+ passing touchdowns.

• Concord WR Dom Collins leads Division II in receiving at 138.5 yards per game — more than 15 yards better than the closest competitor. The freshman has posted four consecutive 100-yard receiving games to begin his collegiate career, and has a receiving touchdown in all four games.

• West Virginia State’s Tony Hornbuckle accounted for 12 of his team’s 60 points in the Yellow Jackets’ win against Fairmont State last Saturday, a single-game high for a kicker in the MEC this season.

• Fairmont State and Frostburg State have combined for the top six single game rushing performances in the MEC this season, including the top four from the Falcons (two each by Leonard Farrow and LeJay Hatcher).

• WVSU QB Kaleb Jackson averaged 30.5 yards per completion against Fairmont State, the best in the MEC in 2025.

• One of Jackson’s favorite targets, Amare Ary, amassed an MEC-best 189 receiving yards in Week 4. Ary is the only player in the league with more than one game of 150+ receiving yards this season.

• Ary ranks No. 6 nationally in receiving yards per game (110.5). Of players with at least 10 receptions, Ary has the top yards-per-catch average in Division II (27.62).

• Fairmont State kicker Emmanuel Richardson is continuing his pursuit of perfection. Richardson has not missed on an extra point attempt in 106 career tries — the most makes and attempts by an MEC kicker without missing in league history.

• West Liberty’s Grant Thompson leads the Mountain East Conference in sacks and tackles for a loss.

• The 93-yard link up between Wheeling quarterback Ade Olanegan and receiver Jordan Kaiser is the longest pass-and-catch in the MEC in the last two seasons.
