BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Cross Country Runner of the Week awards. The weekly awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Fairmont State swept this week’s individual honors, with Donovan Tanouye taking MEC Men’s Runner of the Week and Megan Mitchell winning MEC Women’s Runner of the Week.
Both runners competed in the Youngstown State University Invitational, and both finished in fourth. Tanouye, a freshman from Paw Paw, West Virginia, ran the 8K in 26:50.19 in his collegiate debut. Mitchell, a junior from Moatsville, West Virginia, ran the 5K in 19:31.43. She trailed only the overall winner, Duquesne’s Gina Bolla, and two competitors from Gannon.
