ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — The University of Charleston men’s tennis team saw its 2025 season come to an end Tuesday in the NCAA Championships at Sanlando Park.
UC fell, 4-1, to the University of Indianapolis. The Golden Eagles finish the campaign at 21-4. Charleston entered the 16-team national bracket with an 11-match winning streak dating back to March 19.
The loss caps an impressive year for the Golden Eagles, who swept the trio of Mountain East Conference awards at the end of the season. No. 1 player Jorge Perez, who helped UC secure the doubles point in Tuesday’s match and was on the verge of closing out a victory in singles when UIndy secured the team win, was voted the MEC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year in a vote by league head coaches. Louay Makke was named MEC Freshman of the Year, and Alec Foote took home Coach of the Year honors.
