WHEELING, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference Basketball Championship has once again enhanced its broadcast offerings for the event.
In partnership with West Virginia MetroNews, the MEC will have regional coverage on SportsNet Pittsburgh and SportsNet Pittsburgh+ (see full schedule below) for 13 of 14 men’s and women’s tournament games starting with the MEC women’s quarterfinals on Thursday, March 6.
"During our decade-long partnership with West Virginia MetroNews, the Mountain East Conference has continually grown our digital presence and television opportunities and WVMN has been a crucial partner," said MEC Commissioner Reid Amos. "We are thrilled that 13 of our 14 games from the quarterfinals through the Championship games of the MEC Basketball Tournament will be available on regional television on SportsNet Pittsburgh and SNP+."
The MEC Basketball Tournament gets underway with opening round games on Wednesday, March 5, and SportsNet Pittsburgh's regional coverage will begin with the MEC women’s quarterfinal games, beginning at noon on March 6. All MEC women’s quarterfinal games, which begin at noon on March 6, will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh.
Over the final three days of the event nine of 10 games will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh or SportsNet Pittsburgh+ (see channel guide attached), starting with the MEC men’s quarterfinals on Friday, March 7. On that day, the noon and 2:30 p.m. games will be on SportsNet Pittsburgh+, and the 6 p.m. game will be on SportsNet Pittsburgh.
All six weekend games – the men’s and women’s semifinals on Saturday, and the championship games on Sunday – will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh+. The women’s championship game on Sunday, March 10 will be on a delay (6 p.m. that night), and both championship games will be replayed on SportsNet Pittsburgh+ at 7:15 p.m. (men) and 11:15 p.m. (women) on the night of the title matchups.
Additionally, NESN NATION (New England Sports Network's new FAST channel) will carry two games on Friday, March 7 (6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.), two games on Saturday, March 8 (6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.), and the MEC Men’s Championship on Sunday, March 9 at 4 p.m.
For those who do not have access to Sports Pittsburgh through a television provider, SNP has a subscription-based app available on FireStick, Roku, Apple+, and through other OTT streaming services.
