KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Small College Basketball and the Hall of Fame committee announced former West Liberty standout Seger Bonifant will be inducted as part of its 2025 Hall of Fame class.
Bonifant, who played for the Hilltoppers from 2012 to 2016, is one of nine players in the 2025 class, which also included a pair of coaches and a contributor/player.
The 2025 class will be the ninth group inducted into the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame.
Bonifant’s accomplishments at West Liberty are extensive. He was a two-time Basketball Times Division II National Player of the Year; two-time NABC All-American first team selection; two-time Atlantic Region Player of the Year; and the 2015 and 2016 Mountain East Conference Player of the Year.
Bonifant is the all-time NCAA Division II leader in 3-point percentage (52.5). He led the nation in points (893, 25.5 per game), 3-pointers (117), and 3-point percentage (52.5) in 2016. West Liberty won the MEC championship all four years with Bonifant in the lineup. The Hilltoppers piled up 124 wins against 14 losses in that span, and reached the national semifinals three times and the D2 national championship game once.
The National Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place Friday, October 31, at Branscomb Auditorium at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida.
