BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Liberty’s Sierra Lanham and Frostburg State’s Ka’Von Turner were honored as this week’s Mountain East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Lanham, a sophomore from Morgantown, West Virginia, recorded three top-10 finishes at the Cherry Blossom Invitational over the weekend. She won the long jump with a league-leading mark of 5.56m, while taking second in the 100m dash with a time of 12.60. She also turned in a ninth-place finish in the 200m and was part of a season-best time by West Liberty’s 4x100 relay team.
Turner, a freshman from Lexington, Maryland, won four events at the Messiah Invitational over the weekend, leading the Bobcats to a second-place team finish at the event. Turner finished first in the 100m (10.66) and 200m (21.91) as an individual, and also ran in Frostburg’s winning 4x100 (42.08) and 4x400 (3:26.74) relay events. The Bobcats tied the meet record in the 4x100 relay event.
