Championship Central
WHEELING, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins had all five runners in the top 10 to win the 2019 Mountain East Conference Women's Cross Country title.
D&E took first with 25 points. The Senators were led by Claire Otte on the day who won the race with a time of 23:24 on the 6,000-meter course. Svea Timm was third (23:43), followed by Anya Miller in fifth (24:24), Madison Michels in sixth (24:26) and Kloe Littleman in 10th (25:00). Additionally, two other D&E runners were in the top 17 with Hannah Moore taking 12th (25:20) and Skylee Watson coming in 17th (26:05).
West Liberty was runner-up with 63 points, followed by West Virginia Wesleyan in third (74), Charleston (108) and Wheeling (114).
In addition to the five D&E runners, West Liberty's Hannah Kemp (2nd), Wheeling's Lindsay Scheffel (4th), West Virginia Wesleyan's Madison Frame (8th) and Wheeling's Jordan Delaney notched top 10 finishes to earn first-team All-MEC honors.
Timm was voted as the league's Freshman of the Year and Runner of the Year. Senators head coach Jason Pyles was tabbed as the Coach of the Year.
