Davis & Elkins Earns Top 25 Finish at NCAA DII Women's Cross Country Championship

KENOSHA, Wisc. — Davis & Elkins College finished 23rd at the NCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country Championships, a 6,000-meter race held Saturday morning at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Lauren Twyman, a senior from Vinton, Ohio, was the top finisher among Mountain East Conference competitors, finishing 60th in a field of 262 runners. Also, from Davis & Elkins, junior Lydia Falkenstein finished 120th, Rebecca Tellez placed 124th, Savanna Hardman came in 160th, and Jeanne Pelissier finished 189th.

Glenville State junior Natalie Barr finished 10th, second-best among MEC competitors. Barr was an All-MEC honoree who captured the individual title at the Atlantic Regional, earning her an automatic spot in the NCAA field. Last week, Barr was named the Atlantic Region Runner of the Year.

Adams State’s Tristian Spence placed first overall, helping her team to a fourth-place finish. Grand Valley State captured the team national title, followed by runner-up Colorado School of Mines and Wingate.
