FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The 2026 Mountain East Conference football season continues with conference play as four league teams face off on Oct. 3.
Frostburg State will travel to Athens, West Virginia to battle against Concord, as Wheeling travels to Buckhannon, W. Va. to take on West Virginia Wesleyan. Both games are scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
West Liberty welcomes West Virginia State to Institute, W. Va. at 1:30 p.m., followed by the final matchup of the day between Glenville State and Fairmont State in Fairmont, W.Va. at 2 p.m.

Notes: Frostburg State travels to Athens, W. Va. after defeating West Virginia Wesleyan, 45-7 on Sept. 26. The win marked the Bobcats first conference victory of the season. Frostburg State tallied 371 yards of total offense in the contest, including 216 passing yards. Redshirt senior quarterback Jordan Brooks completed 80% of his passes, going 16-for-20 with 181 yards and a touchdown. Brooks is second in the league with his quarterback efficiency of 148.0, averaging 221.8 yards per game. On defense, sophomore linebacker Gavin Kendrick finished with nine tackles as well as a pair sacks and forced fumbles. Concord welcomes the Bobcats after dropping a close game to West Liberty, 43-42 on Saturday. The Mountain Lions counted 512 yards of total offense, which included 314 yards through the air. Graduate student quarterback Devin Kargman finished 18-for-33 with 305 yards and three touchdown passes. Kargman leads the MEC with a 141.7 quarterback efficiency and 260.0 yards per game. Additionally, Concord leads the conference with 36.8 points, 441.3 offensive yards and 262.3 passing yards per game.

West Liberty defeated Concord, 43-42 in a close contest on Saturday. Senior quarterback Kohl Meisman sealed the win for the Hilltoppers in the final 29 seconds of the game, connecting on a touchdown pass then catching the two-point conversion to give West Liberty the lead. Meisman completed 82% of his passes, going 22-27 with 305 yards and five touchdown passes, good enough for MEC Offensive Player of the Week. On defense, redshirt freshman linebacker Dominic Maultsby was named the MEC Defensive Player of the Week after securing 14 total tackles which included 10 solo stops and three tackles for a loss. The Hilltoppers tallied 442 yards of total offense in the contest, including 314 passing yards. West Liberty leads the MEC in rushing yards, averaging 210.6 yards per game. West Virginia State welcomes the Hilltoppers after falling 41-18 to Fairmont State on Saturday. The Yellowjackets outpaces the Falcons with 458 yards of total offense along with 320 passing yards. Senior quarterback Kaleb Jackson finished 24-for-39 with 320 yards and two touchdown passes.

Redshirt sophomore running back Jamir Fox clocked the Pioneers lone points in the game, with a rushing touchdown. Fairmont State welcomes the Pioneers after plucking off West Virginia State, 41-18 on Saturday. The Falcons finished with 410 yards of total offense, including 181 yards on the ground. Junior quarterback Nina Marzullo went 19-for-27 with 229 yards and two touchdowns. Faimont State leads the league in kickoff return yards, 24.8 yards per kick.
