FAIRMONT, W. Va. - The Mountain East Conference has announced Monday the winners of this week’s Football Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan. 

West Liberty’s quarterback Kohl Meisman was selected as the MEC Offensive Player of the Week and linebacker Dominic Maultsby was named the MEC Defensive Player of the Week, while Fairmont State’s cornerback DJ Dailey was named the MEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Meisman, a senior from Rapid City, South Dakota, led West Liberty’s offense in the Hilltoppers 43-42 win over Concord on Sept. 26. The quarterback completed 82% of his passes, going 22-27 with 305 yards and five touchdown passes. Meisman sealed the win for West Liberty in the final 29 seconds of the game, connecting on a touchdown pass then catching the two-point conversion to take the lead. 

Maultsby, a redshirt freshman from Orlando, Florida, had 14 total tackles in the Hilltoppers’ win over Concord, including 10 solo stops and three tackles for a loss. Additionally, the linebacker had a solo sack and a forced fumble.

Dailey, a redshirt senior from Ocala, Fla., had two kick return attempts in the Falcons’ 41-18 win over West Virginia State on Saturday. The cornerback tallied 111 yards, including a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown during Fairmont State’s opening drive.
