FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The 2026 Mountain East Conference football season enters the first full weekend of conference play, as four league teams will face off on Sept. 26. All four contests are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
Concord will travel to West Liberty, West Virginia to take on West Liberty as Glenville State will travel to Charleston, W. Va. to battle with Charleston.
Frostburg State welcomes West Virginia Wesleyan to Frostburg, Maryland while Fairmont State will serve as host to West Virginia State in Fairmont, W. Va.

Notes: Concord heads into the match with a 2-1 mark overall, and 0-1 mark in conference play after dropping a close game to Charleston, 41-38 on Sept. 17. The Mountain Lions finished with 387 yards of total offense, including 254 yards through the air. Graduate student quarterback Devin Kargman went 16-for-28 with 254 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Concord leads the MEC in scoring offense, averaging 35.0 points per game and total offense with 417.7 average yards per game. West Liberty welcomes Concord after defeating Frostburg State, 30-24 in overtime on Sept. 19. The Hilltoppers tallied 337 yards of total offense, which included 217 yards on the ground. Senior quarterback Kohl Meisman finished 13-for-26 with 120 yards, two touchdown passes and an interception. Additionally on offense, senior running back Hunter Patterson had 28 carries, 199 yards and two rushing touchdowns. WLU leads the league in rushing offense, averaging 229.0 yards per game and 10 total rushing touchdowns. Patterson tops the MEC in multiple statistical categories, including 187.8 rushing yards per game, 18.0 points per game and 233.0 all-purpose yards per game.

Notes: Glenville State will travel to Charleston to face off against the Golden Eagles after falling to Division I Mercyhurst, 49-20 on Sept. 19 in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Pioneers finished with 473 yards of total offense, outpacing the Lakers 331 yards. Junior quarterback Maddox Bowers went 21-for-42 with 249 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Charleston welcomes Glenville State after defeating Concord, 41-38 on Sept. 17 in the final three minutes of the contest. The Golden Eagles tallied 412 total yards, which included 300 yards on the ground. Junior quarterback Camden Reese finished 10-for-12 with 66 yards and two touchdowns. Redshirt senior kicker Zachary Alvarez set a new MEC record for the longest field goal in league history at 54 yards in the contest earning him the MEC Special Teams Player of the Week award. Charleston leads the league in field goals made going five-for-five and points after touchdowns going 13-for-13.

Notes: West Virginia Wesleyan will travel to Frostburg State after defeating West Virginia State, 28-23 in a road contest on Sept. 19. The Bobcats earned their first conference win since the 2022 and first multiwin season 2017. WVWC finished with 373 yards of total offense, including 247 passing yards. Redshirt freshman quarterback Liam McGuire was named the MEC Offensive Player of the Week after going 18-for-36 with 247 passing yards and four touchdown passes. Junior wide receiver Amari Colon-Brown leads the conference in receiving yards, averaging 135.8 yards per game and seven receiving touchdowns. Frostburg State welcomes the Bobcats after falling 30-24 to West Liberty in overtime on Sept. 19. Redshirt junior quarterback Jordan Brooks finished 16-for-26 with 181 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Brooks is second overall in the MEC with his 235.3 average passing yards per game with a 142.6 quarterback efficiency. The Bobcats lead the conference with 276.7 average yards per game on defense.

West Virginia State had 288 rushing yards, including graduate student running back Justin Pessoa who tallied 13 carries and 104 yards. Additionally, senior wide receiver Amare Ary notched a sixty seven yard touchdown on the ground. WVSU is No. 2 in the conference averaging 399.7 offensive yards per game. Fairmont State welcomes the Yellow Jackets after falling 28-24 to Wheeling on Sept. 19. The Falcons tallied 484 yards of total offense, out numbering the Cardinals 353 yards. Junior quarterback Nino Marzullo went 11-for-18 with 164 yards, a passing touchdown as well as 87 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
