BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Fairmont State University has been voted the preseason favorite in the 2026 Mountain East Conference Acrobatics & Tumbling Preseason poll, which was announced Monday afternoon. The vote was compiled by the league’s seven head coaches.
The Falcons received six first-place votes, while Glenville State University picked up the remaining coaches vote. The pair of teams were voted above Frostburg State University, West Liberty University, Kutztown University, Wheeling University and West Virginia State.
The Falcons were crowned the champions of the 2025 Mountain East Championships, defeating Glenville State, 266.505-253.140. Fairmont State fell in the NCATA Quarterfinals to Augustana, 256.815 - 248.695. Both Fairmont State and Glenville State competed in the NCATA Event Finals in 2025.
The MEC Acrobatics & Tumbling season is set to begin on February 7, with Fairmont State and West Liberty facing off.
