MEC Announces Seeds and Matchups for Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The Mountain East Conference today announced the matchups and seeding for the 2022 MEC Acrobatics & Tumbling Championship to be held this weekend at Joe Retton Arena on the campus of Fairmont State University.

Championship tickets are now on-sale by visiting this link. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 13-18. Children ages 12 and under will receive free admission. Students from MEC institutions will also be admitted free with a valid student ID. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets online prior to the event.

Defending tournament champion Fairmont State is the top seed in the tournament field after going 6-0 against MEC competition this spring. The Falcons will take on fourth-seeded West Liberty on Friday at 7 p.m. to cap the first day of action. West Liberty is the fourth seed after going 4-2 in MEC meets this season. Second-seeded Frostburg State (4-2) will face third-seeded West Virginia Wesleyan (4-2) in Friday’s first semifinal, starting at 5 p.m. The winners from Friday’s semifinal round will compete for the conference championship on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Additionally, the MEC will hold individual event finals on Saturday morning beginning at 11 a.m. The final list of qualifiers will be based on the top three event scores during MEC competition this season and will be released on Wednesday, April 6, in the afternoon.
