Iacobacci Named MEC Female Athlete Of The Year

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State softball standout Courtney Iacobacci has been named the Mountain East Conference Female Athlete of the Year for 2015-16.

Iacobacci collected numerous accolades after leading the MEC in nearly every offensive category during her senior season. She ranked first in average (.456), slugging (.867), home runs (19), runs scored (53), total bases (137) and on-base percentage (.530). She set six single-season school records in 2016, and established three new career records at FSU.

In addition to earning MEC Player of the Year honors, she was tabbed as the D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year. She became just the second All-American in school history earning first team honors from D2CCA and the NFCA. She was also one of just 10 finalists for the NFCA Player of the Year honors.

The MEC Female Athlete of the Year is selected by a vote of institutional administrators and the conference office.
