Allie (Kolezynski) De Witt serves as the Senior Associate Commissioner and Chief of Staff at the Mountain East Conference.
She plays an active role in the MEC’s governance structure as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) and primary administrator for the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Faculty Athletic Representatives, and committees of head coaches.
De Witt is responsible for leading administration and operations for each of the conference’s 23 championship events. In addition, she supports the Commissioner, working with the league’s Supervisors of Officials, campus administration, and coaches on regular-season operations for all sports.
De Witt also manages the overarching aspects of the MEC financial, bookkeeping, and accounting processes while maintaining responsibility for the day-to-day business operations of the conference office. She leads the review and implementation of the conference strategic plan and strategically manages the funds received as part of the NCAA Conference Grant program.
She joined the MEC in January 2017 as the Assistant Commissioner for Communications and Operations, and earned a promotion to Associate Commissioner and SWA in 2019.
De Witt is a member of the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball National Committee and serves as the committee’s Atlantic Region Chair. She plays a critical role in the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling (NCATA) Sport Oversight Committee, leading NCATA administrators and coaches in reviewing the NCATA committee structure while ensuring future processes and committee functions align with NCAA governance models as the sport seeks NCAA Championship sport status. She recently completed a four-year term on NCAA Division II Softball National Committee and is a graduate of the NCAA Division II/D2ADA Mentoring Program. De Witt is an active member of Women Leaders in Sports and is a co-lead for programming directed toward conference administrators in all three divisions of the NCAA governance structure.
Prior to joining the MEC staff, De Witt spent four years as Assistant Athletics Director/Director of Athletics Communications at her alma mater, Chowan University. In that capacity, she led all communication efforts for 18 varsity sports, which included website maintenance, social media, and publications. She earned CIAA Sports Information Director of the Year in 2014 and 2016.
In addition to her athletic communications duties, De Witt also oversaw all business transactions for the CU athletics department and accounts for individual sports, including fundraising, camps, and clinics. De Witt served as head coach for the school’s newly created women’s cross country team during her first two years on staff before moving into full-time administration.
As a student-athlete at Chowan, De Witt was a four-year starter and captain on the softball team. She was a three-time All-CIAA selection, three-time CIAA Commissioner’s All-Academic Team honoree, two-time NCCSIA All-State selection, NCCAA All-American, Capital One Academic All-American, and Daktronics All-Region team member. De Witt led the team to three consecutive CIAA Northern Division titles and the program’s first CIAA championship in 2010.
Off the field, she served a three-year term on the NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), including a two-year stint as vice-chair, and went on to be a co-adviser during her time as an administrator at Chowan.
As a senior, De Witt was named the 2012 CIAA Woman of the Year, the highest honor bestowed on a female CIAA student-athlete. She was again recognized by the league in 2013 earning the Commissioner’s Service Award for representing the CIAA SAAC and her work at Chowan. She was honored in 2017 by her alma mater, receiving Distinguished Young Alumni recognition.
De Witt will be inducted into the Chowan University Athletic Hall of Fame this fall.
The native of Strongsville, Ohio, graduated from Chowan in 2012 with a degree in Business Administration and earned an MBA from Cleveland State University in 2013. She and her husband, Brian, have a son, Clark.
