FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week’s Swimmer of the Week awards. The weekly awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Davis & Elkins' Payton Williamson is the MEC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while fellow Senator Lauren Lockwood is the MEC Women’s Swimmer of the Week.

Williamson, a senior from Shelbyville, Michigan, helped lead the Senators to a pair of wins over Shawnee State and West Virginia Wesleyan on Oct. 23 and 24, respectively. The senior earned wins in four individual events over the weekend, including the 1,000-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard backstroke and the 100-yard backstroke. Additionally, Williamson aided in David & Elkins 200-yard freestyle relay team win against the Bobcats. 

Lockwood, a junior from Barboursville, West Virginia, helped Davis & Elkins defeat Shawnee State, West Virginia Wesleyan and California (Pa.), on the women’s side. She earned five individual wins over the weekend, with two first-place finishes in the 200-yard individual medley and wins in the 200-yard backstroke, 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstokes. Additionally, she aided in the Senators 200-yard freestyle relay against Shawnee State.
