BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Fairmont State University has been voted the preseason favorite in the 2025 Mountain East Conference Acrobatics & Tumbling Preseason poll, which was announced Thursday afternoon. The vote was conducted by the league’s seven head coaches.
The Falcons received five first-place votes, while defending champion Frostburg State had the other two. Last season, second-seeded Frostburg State defeated top-seeded Fairmont State, 270.465-266.770 in the MEC Tournament Championship at Joe Retton Arena in Fairmont.
Frostburg State won its second consecutive MEC Championship last season after sweeping the regular season and postseason titles in 2023.
In 2024, Frostburg State earned the No. 7 seed in the NCATA National Championship, while Fairmont State was the No. 8 seed.
Glenville State, which had two individual qualifiers for the NCATA National Championship last season, was picked to finish first in the 2025 Preseason Poll. The Pioneers were followed by league newcomer Kutztown, which tied with West Liberty for fourth. West Virginia State and Wheeling round out the seven-team preseason poll.
The MEC Acrobatics & Tumbling season is set to begin this Sunday, Feb. 2, when West Liberty and Wheeling meet at 4 p.m.
