BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Charleston head men’s and women’s cross country coach Nick Bias was named the Atlantic Region Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday afternoon when the association announced its postseason award winners.
Bias led the UC men’s and women’s cross country teams to the Mountain East Conference and Atlantic Regional Championships in 2022. Both teams will head to Seattle to compete in the Division II Cross Country National Championships on Friday afternoon.
Bias has now led the Charleston men to their fourth-constructive regional championship. On the women’s side, Charleston won its first-ever Atlantic Region Championship this fall. Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams at UC are currently nationally ranked by the USTFCCCA. The Charleston men checked in at No. 13 in the last national poll release, while the UC women ranked 17
th.
