BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins' Clifton Ruggiero has been named the week three Mountain East Conference Wrestler of the Week for his performance on the mat this past weekend. 

Ruggiero, a sophomore from Brick, N.J., went 4-0 at the Bob Quade Cyclone open and won the title at 157 pounds last week for the Senators. After a win by fall in the opening round, he earned a major decision in the quarterfinals. In the tournament's semifinals, he knocked off 11th-ranked Chad Haegele of Kutztown, 12-7. He led 7-3 in the championship match against Anthony Ulaszek before recording the pin at the 6:16 mark.

Nick Daggett (UNCP) went 2-0 in dual meet action for the Braves last week at 125 pounds, including a win by fall and a 4-0 win over a regionally ranked opponent.
