MEC Announces Week 10 Football Honors

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Javon Butler (GSC), Dominic Cizauskas (GSC) and Colin Harvath (FAIR) have earned Mountain East Conference Player of the Week honors for their play in the tenth week of the season.

Butler, a junior from Elkton, Va., is the Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Pioneers to 23-20 overtime victory against No. 6 Notre Dame College, on the road. Butler hauled in seven catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime. Bulter also threw a 57-yard touchdown pass early in the first quarter. 

Cizauskas, a senior from Mukwonago, Wisc., earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping Glenville State to an upset victory over Notre Dame. He recorded 11 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss forced a fumble and intercepted a pass while holding Notre Dame's offense to just 276 yards.

Harvath, a sophomore from Fairmont, W.Va., is the MEC Special Teams Player of the Week following Fairmont's win over Urbana. He made all four PATs and added a 30-yard field goal in the 31-7 win on Thursday night.

Isaiah Robinson (WLU) hauled in six passes for a career-high 152 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-tying score late in the fourth quarter... Gavin Lavat (FROST) ran for 145 yards on 22 carries and tallied two touchdowns... Javon Hayes (FAIR) hauled in five passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in the win over Urbana... Matt Shearer (CU) tossed for 149 yards and two touchdowns... Derek Drapen (WVWC) caught for passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns... Eddie Stockett (UU) threw for 170 yards and kept it himself for a rushing touchdown.

Defense: James Reese (WU) tallied 10 tackles (six solo) and an interception against WVSU... David Gilcreast (WLU) totaled 2.0 sacks and forced two fumbles in the win over WVWC... Jalen Hairston (CU) notched eight tackles and forced two fumbles... John Merica (WVWC) tallied two interceptions including a pick-six to go along with seven solo tackles... Duray Hall (UU) notched 10 tackles (four solo) and one tackle for loss... Trevon Shorts (FAIR) totaled seven tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a pass break-up.
