BUCKHANNON, W.Va.
-- Audrey Barber's goal in the 62nd minute was all West Virginia Wesleyan needed to defeat Shepherd, 1-0, in the MEC Women's Soccer Tournament semifinals.

With sustained possession in the final third, the goal came after a long shot from Kelsey Hibbs that looked to try and sneak under the crossbar, but Christi LaBella was able to knock it away. However, Barber came charging in and cleaned up the rebound for the game's lone score.

Shepherd's best opportunity to score came at the start of the second half, when Katherine Eddy took a shot from point-blank range. The shot soared high, allowing the Bobcats to build on the momentum through the duration of the second half.

WVWC controlled the game recording 16 shots and holding Shepherd to only five. The Bobcats also had an edge in corners, 5-1, in the contest.

Chelsea Hubner and Ashlee Schumacher split time between the pipes for West Virginia Wesleyan and each made one save in the team's shutout. Barber had the goal on three shots, and Emily Knight and Shannon Shawgo also recorded three shots.

LaBella finished the game with five saves and controlled the box well dealing with the pressure from WVWC. Eddy and Samantha Leonard each recorded two shots.

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Notre Dame scored midway through the first half and never looked back on its way to a 2-0 win over Concord in Thursday's second MEC Women's Soccer Tournament semifinal match of the day.

Notre Dame's first goal came in the 29th minute when MEC Offensive Player of the Year Alexis Manoa delivered a perfect free kick to the head of Brooke LeForce who beat her defender to the near post to record the score. The Falcons then doubled its lead early in the second half as Janelle Bernal made a run into the left side of the box and crossed it where a Concord defender slid to try and clear it out of danger but knocked it into her own net.

Notre Dame tallied 15 shots on the afternoon led by Manoa with five (two on frame). Bernal added three shots in the victory.  Concord totaled seven shots in the setback from seven different players.

Katie Maher faced 16 shots in goal for the Mountain Lions and made six shots in the setback. Kyra McDowell recorded five saves for the Falcons.
