UC Grabs First Round Lead

DANIELS, W.Va. -- The University of Charleston leads after the first round of play at the 2016 Mountain East Conference Women's Golf Tournament at Glade Springs Resort.

The Golden Eagles finished the day with a 331, 21 shots better than defending champion Wheeling Jesuit (352). Notre Dame is in third after shooting a 353. 

UC's Lauren Crouse leads all players with a first round 76. Concord's Natalia Jornet was the only other player to break 80 after shooting a 78. West Virginia Wesleyan's Katie Casey carded an 80, Notre Dame's Brianna Stokes shot 81 and UC's Elizabeth Karsten rounded out the top five with an 82.
