CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia Wesleyan edged UVa-Wise, 5-4, and West Liberty rolled past Fairmont State, 5-0, in the Mountain East Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon at Schoenbaum Tennis Courts.
The Bobcats trailed 2-1 after doubles, but rallied to win four of the six singles matches. Sarah Cameron had the key victory at No. 5 singles winning in three sets over Mackenzie Lawson, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
In the second quarterfinal, West Liberty swept all three doubles matches dropping just two games in the process. WLU's Andrea Puga and Kate Pinchuk won in straight sets to secure the match for the Hilltoppers.
