CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Liberty drained 14 three-pointers on its way to an 82-57 win over UVa-Wise in the quarterfinals of the Mountain East Conference Tournament presented by GoMart on Thursday afternoon at the Charleston Civic Center.
WLU’s Liz Flowers filled the box score with 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Jenn Mohney added 17 points, including 15 points from behind the three-point line. The Hilltoppers improved to 20-9 on the year and advance to the MEC Semifinals on Saturday at noon.
Reynesha Archer led the Cavs with 22 points on the day.
The Hilltoppers hit 10 of their 14 three-pointers in the first half, helping them out to a 43-30 lead at the break. The Toppers picked where they left off in the second half with its lead swelling to 29 points before the 82-57 final.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kiara Johnson scored 15 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to lead Charleston to a 72-64 win over Urbana in the quarterfinals of the Mountain East Conference Tournament.
The Golden Eagles advance to the semifinals to take on West Liberty on Saturday, March 8, at noon.
UC (20-7) out-rebounded Urbana 47-39 and and had a 17-9 advantage in second-chance points. The Golden Eagles took advantage of a cold shooting stretch for Urbana in the second half that saw the Blue Knights go just 2-for-15 in a nine-minute stretch.
Urbana (18-10) was led by 20 points from senior DeVonyea Johnson. Ebany Brumfield came off the bench to score 10 points and eight rebounds.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Glenville State's defense turned 22 Wheeling Jesuit turnovers into 30 points in a 75-53 win over Wheeling Jesuit in the quarterfinals of the Mountain East Conference Tournament on Thursday evening at the Charleston Civic Center.
The top-seeded Pioneers (26-3) were paced by 19 points from Ginny Mills, and Tasia Bristow added 15 points, four assists and six steals in the victory.
Wheeling Jesuit (15-13) was led by 14 points from Taneka Lewis. Jaila Bryant scored 10 points and contributed eight rebounds, and Taylor Lubinsky added 10 points.
Glenville State led from the jump, but Wheeling Jesuit stayed within striking distance until the 15:34 mark in the second half. The Pioneers went on a 12-3 run to extend its lead from eight points to 17 over the five minute span to put the game out of reach.
The Pioneers advance to the semifinals on Saturday afternoon at 2:15 p.m.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia State held Fairmont State to just 30 percent shooting from the field in a 71-59 win over Fairmont State in the quarterfinals of the Mountain East Conference Tournament.
WVSU advances to take on Glenville State on Saturday afternoon at 2:15 p.m.
Lexy Carson recorded 24 points and added six rebounds to lead the Yellow Jackets (19-10). Asia Greenleaf added 13 points to go with eight rebounds. WVSU controlled the inside out-scoring FSU 42-22 in the paint.
Fairmont State (18-10) was led by Makenzie White's 16 points, six rebounds and three assists. Hallie Gunnoe added 15 points and Hailey Garret contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.
Fairmont State trailed by just five with 10:22 to go, but a cold shooting stretch allowed WVSU to extend its lead to 15 points with just 2:49 to go and put the game out of reach.
