Fairmont State earned its way to a second-straight MEC Tournament final with a 3-1 victory over Shepherd (23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-23).
The Falcons (24-6) will take on Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Shepherd concludes its season with a record of 18-3 under first-year head coach Camilo Guerci.
FSU dropped a narrow first set, 25-23, but was on the winning side of the next three sets. The Falcons were led by Kaitlyn Witsaman who had 15 kills and just three errors in the match. Mackenzie Harrison added 12 kills. Erin Harwood served seven aces in the match to go with eight kills and 13 digs, and Tiff Smathers contributed 14 digs. Tabbie Bias led the way in assists with 39.
Shepherd freshman Kalyeigh Helgesen led all players with 16 kills. Valerie Bour had 12 and Kayla Motheral added 11. Kelsey Anderson contributed a game-high 24 digs and Taylor Bellela had 44 assists.

Wheeling Jesuit
Wheeling Jesuit rolled to a 3-0 win in as many days, defeating West Virginia Wesleyan 25-19, 25-16, 25-13) on Friday night.
The Cardinals improved to 34-3 on the year and will play for a second-straight MEC Tournament title tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. The Bobcats finish the year with a record of 11-13 .
Wheeling Jesuit was led by Kayce Krucki who hit .500 hammering home 11 kills on 22 attempts without an error. Haley Kindall also added 11 kills. Andrea Thobe assisted on 39 of WJU's 44 kills in the match.
West Virginia Wesleyan received 11 kills from Erin Bond. Paulina Nottingham had 32 assists in the match, and Erin Caldwell had 13 digs.
