Notre Dame Maintains Lead At MEC Women's Golf Championship

DANIELS, W.Va. -- For the second-straight year, Notre Dame College will enter the final round of the Mountain East Conference Tournament with the lead.

The Falcons hold a two-shot lead over last year's champion Wheeling Jesuit. Notre Dame shot a second round score of 337 for a two-day total of 676. Wheeling Jesuit shaved 10 strokes off its first round with a tournament-low 334 to push its two day total to 678. 

West Virginia Wesleyan is in third with a score of 690 and Charleston is in fourth with a score of 694. West Libety is fifth (722), followed by Urbana (723), Glenville State (759), UVa-Wise (782) and Fairmont State (828).

WJU's Kasey Frazier followed up her first round 77 with a 75 on the second day for a two-day total of 152. Kelli Garret and Michiko Smith are six shots back, and Bridget Lynn is eight shots back in fourth. Five players scored in the 70s on day two led by Frazier (75), Garrett (78), Smith (78), Lynn (79) and Courtney Tierney (79).

The final round is scheduled to get underway tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
